Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (SFBR) is a large private research institute located in San Antonio Texas.
With 400 staff and a 397-acre (1.61 km2) campus, SFBR is "one of the world's leading independent biomedical research institutions."[1]
SFBR houses the Southwest National Primate Research Center, the world's largest Baboon colony for biomedical research.
SFBR is also home to the only privately owned Biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory in the United States.
The Foundation's AT&T Genomics Computing Center is "the world's largest computer cluster devoted to statistical genetic analysis."
